What you send us. When you write by email or WhatsApp, or book a diagnosis: your name, the contact you use, your company and whatever you tell us about what you need.

Technical website logs. The server hosting the website keeps, for a short time and for security and operational reasons, the IP address, the date of the request and the type of browser.

Visit statistics, only if you accept. If you give consent in the cookie bar, Google Analytics counts the pages viewed, the type of device and where the visit came from. If you decline, none of this is loaded.

How it works, step by step. When you open the website, the cookie bar appears with three options: Accept, Decline and Settings. Until you choose, Google Analytics isn't loaded and nothing is sent to Google. Only when you click Accept is the tool loaded and your visit counted. If you decline, the website works exactly the same, without statistics. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer.

• Replying to you, understanding the problem and preparing a quote. Basis: steps taken before a contract, at your request.
• Carrying out the contracted work. Basis: the contract between the parties.
• Issuing and keeping invoices and supporting documents. Basis: legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• Keeping the website secure and running. Basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
• Measuring visits. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We don't sell data or hand it over for third-party advertising. We use the following providers, each only for its own purpose:

• Zoho (Zoho Mail, servers in the European Union): the geral@oaktechnologies.pt email.
• Vercel (United States): website hosting and technical logs.
• Meta (WhatsApp, United States): the conversations you start on that channel, subject to WhatsApp's terms.
• Cal.com: booking the diagnosis and the data you fill in when booking.
• Google (Google Analytics, United States): visit statistics, only with your consent.
• Our accountant and the tax authorities, when the law requires it.

Transfers outside the European Union rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, on these companies' participation in the EU–US data protection framework.

Contacts and conversations from people who reach out to us: 6 months from the last contact, after which they are deleted.

If the contact leads to work, the data is kept for as long as the contract lasts. Invoices and supporting documents are kept for 10 years, because tax law requires it. Google Analytics statistics are kept for 14 months and then deleted by the tool itself, as counts and without identifying you by name.

You can ask us, at any time and without giving a reason: access to your data, correction of anything wrong, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, and to receive the data in a file you can take elsewhere. If you gave consent for statistics, you can withdraw it through the Cookie settings link in the footer, without affecting what was done before.

Just write to geral@oaktechnologies.pt. We reply within one month. If you feel we didn't handle the matter as we should, you can file a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados) at www.cnpd.pt.

The website doesn't use its own cookies to track you. Fonts are served from our own domain, and WhatsApp and the booking are links that only open if you click them.

If we change any tool or the way data is handled, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
